Cherie Thum's Profile

Cherie Thum is instrumental in introducing the Lambada-Zouk dance in Malaysia and the Lambada-Zouk Hour @ the Paradize, the Logde in Kuala Lumpur every Friday.

She is also the creator of the Facebook Group “LAMBADA-ZOUK MALAYSIA”. The primary objective of LAMBADA-ZOUK MALAYSIA is to promote and build awareness of this dance, the Lambada-Zouk (Porto Seguro style, from Bahia, Brazil), in Malaysia and regionally. Her group are keen Lambada Zouk lovers who wish to propagate the dance Lambada Zouk as much as they can.

Cherie, a jewelry designer, has always been an ardent dancer and has been exposed to many dance disciplines since she was a teenager. Having choreographed & preformed in several dances for high school concerts, Cherie has recently taken her performance more seriously. In 2009, Cherie performed a Bachatango dance at the Malaysian Salsa Congress and Malaysian Salsa Festival.
Cherie has also assisted her former dance instructor in Salsa, Bachata & Bachatango classes.

Socially, Cherie also dances the West Coast Swing, Jive, Rock & Roll & Argentine Tango.

In Lambada-Zouk, Cherie was trained by Bebe Genivaldo Moreira Duarte. Bebe was born in Porto Seguro, Bahia, Brazil. Porto Seguro is home of Lambada! Bebe came in second in the World Zouk-Lambada Competition 2009 (the largest Lambada-Zouk Congress in the World) held in Porto Seguro.

Our classes emphasizes on proper techniques and safety. In our beginner classes, you will learn all the foundation movements of the dance and be exposed to the great Middle Eastern music. We will also awaken and work on those intricate feminine muscles of ours that has been largely ignored in our daily routines. It's a class suitable for all children and women no matter what shape, age, race or post they held in the society. In class, we are all just women enjoying ourselves!
